Ask a dating question

The basic currency of the Internet is human ignorance, and, frankly, our database holds a strong cash position!

So, instead of judging each question’s first-date appropriateness subjectively, I turned to statistics.

Instead, spread them out over a few dates, starting off with the really casual questions on the first date, and then making them more personal or intimate. - What qualities would you look for in your partner? - If you had a million dollars, what would you do with the money? - Which, according to you, is the most romantic musical instrument/language? - Arrange according to preference - sun, sand, snow? - What are your thoughts about marriage and religion? - Is there any goal/dream you have which you think cannot be fulfilled now because it's too late?

Try to keep the questions to a reasonable amount, say maybe 5 to 6 questions per date. - Does your first love still hold a special place in your heart? - If your partner wants to do something you don't particularly like/enjoy, would you do it with him? - Do you like going to the theater or for concerts? - Which is the one place you would like to visit/settle in?

It is really important that you ask the right questions at the right time, since inappropriately timed questions can hamper your chances of winning another date.

Listed below are some questions that get you going, but it is up to you to figure out the right time to ask them.

For men there are a few others: When someone deletes their Ok Cupid account, they have the option of giving us a reason, and if that reason is ‘I met somebody on Ok Cupid,’ they can give us their significant other’s username.

In each case, complexity-preferrers are 65–70% likely to give the Liberal answer.

And those who prefer simplicity in others are 65–70% likely to give the Conservative one.

As someone who is not himself a believer, I found it rather heartening that tolerance, even on something trivial like this, correlated with belief in God, although I should’ve figured out that religious people are okay with small mistakes. It’s also nice when two completely independent datasets corroborate each other.
